Burleson City Council Meetings
Hey Burleson!
If you want to stay informed of what is happening with your local government, not just your state and federal government, there is no better way than to be in attendance, at your local city council meetings. Plus, this way, we can send a message straight to Mayor Ken Shetter and City Council Members, that we are watching them and that we are concerned enough about our local government, as well as, state and federal governments, to be in attendance. This is American citizens of Burleson, keeping a watchful eye out for possible, local, detrimental legislation, ordinances, taxes, etc., that we feel, do not have our best interests at heart. A local march is being organized in Fort Worth – see below for details from the organizers.
What: 912 Fort Worth March and Rally
When: September 12, 2009 2:00 PM
Where:
Downtown Fort Worth
900 Main Street
Fort Worth, TX 76102
817-768-7783We are fed up, we are mad, and we are no longer silent. Come join us exercise our right to peaceably assemble and redress our griefs against the federal government on September 12, 2009 in Downtown Fort Worth. The nationwide march is in Washington D.C. and we encourage as many as possible to attend that event to show our collective voice. Click Here for details of that event. However, over 85% of the people we polled cannot afford either the time or money to go to Washington D.C. so we wanted to provide an event to show unified support in North Texas.
Staging for the March will begin at 2pm and the procession will begin promptly at 3pm. Afterward, there will a rally with entertainment, speakers, and food in the street just north of the convention center.
Bring your signs, prepare to march, show them we are fed up. Everyone will be able to march. In addition, we will have a limited number of slots available in the march for vehicles so please contact us if you are interested in a vehicle in the march.
Following the march everyone will gather in the street just north of the Fort Worth Convention Center for a fun and entertaining rally. The theme is Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. After you attend the event you will be ready to stay off the couch to continue to help save the U.S. Constitution and protect your unalienable God given rights.
We will need volunteers and donations to fund this event.
Please make a donation to make this a successful event as there is significant cost associated with production of this event. If you cannot donate financially, please volunteer your time.
570 KLIF will be emcee for the event and very exiting speakers will be announced soon.

Report from the Protest
Elsa Riedel attended the protest in Cleburne at Chet Edward’s office. Here is her report. Thanks, Elsa!
If the mainstream media mention us at all, most scoff at us or, condescendingly, refer to the expression of our concerns as “chattering”. The politicians have simply tried to ignore us, or out-and-out lied to us about their intentions in an effort to make us go away. Many, friend and foe alike, have questioned our ability to keep the momentum going.
Guess what! We are strong! We are growing!
On July 17th, grassroots Tea Party Patriots again peacefully gathered at congressional offices nationwide to say NO to the government take-over of our healthcare.
About 300 sign carrying, obstreperous Burleson Tea Party members and their supporters joined together in front of District 17 Congressman Chet Edwards’ Cleburne office for a 2 hour noon-day rally to tell him to vote NO on Obama’s trillion dollar takeover of our health system; turning it into rationed, socialized medicine.
NO to Obamacare!
That was the prevalent message of the day although most were also protesting the inconceivable, immoral, cavalier spending of our tax dollars in general. If the sound of honking horns is any indication of support, a clear majority of passers-by were with us.
In addition, his constituents signed an individual petition enumerating their requisites and each person hand-delivered theirs to the second floor congressional office of Congressman Edwards.
Ignorance, apathy, and indifference pave the road to tyranny. We can’t stop now. Call your congressman. Call your senators. Keep the pressure on. If you can, join the march September 12, for the Taxpayer’s March on Capitol Hill!
Update on Nationalized Healthcare Protest
AMERICANS!
Now, right now is the time, to stand up and make your voices heard, louder than before! NATIONALIZED HEALTHCARE IS BEING ATTEMPTED TO BE RUSHED THROUGH, PRIOR TO OUR NATION WIDE NATIONALIZED HEALTHCARE PROTESTS!
The Waco Tea Party Organizer, Mrs. Toby Walker and I are rocking it out on the emails! We are getting responses from not only ALL over Texas, but from other states as well, from Americans that are coming to Cleburne and Waco, to protest Nationalized Healthcare at Congressman Chet Edwards Congressional offices! Make arrangements! Come by on your lunch hour! Get to Cleburne or Waco, which ever is closest. Americans are chosing to come to Cleburne, instead of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison’s office, to send a message to a very vulnerable Democrat, Congressman Chet Edwards! The message, basic and simple, “Vote NO on Nationalized Healthcare, or PACK YOUR BAGS!” Americans need you, at this time to be at the protest in Waco or Cleburne! Which ever is closest to you! Emails are pouring in! Americans are rsvp’g to attend these protests! It’s a great thing!
Below is the locations of the protests in Cleburne and Waco;
600 Austin Avenue, Suite 29
Waco, Texas 76701
254-752-9600
11am – 12 noon
115 South Main Street, Suite 202
Cleburne, Texas 76033
817-645-4743
11am-1pm
Chet Edwards Washington, DC office phone number: 202-225-6105
If you absolutely can not make it to these protests, please, on July 17th, this Friday, during the hours of 11am to 1pm, flood and pound the phone lines of these offices! While Americans are hitting them through the phone lines, Americans will be, at the same time, hitting them from the streets!
Do not hesitate. Make the time! Do this for yourself, your fellow Americans, future generations and for your country!
THIS WE CAN DO! THIS WE MUST DO, AND THIS WE WILL DO!
Best Always,
Angela Cox
